This cheeky bird made from hand-blown glass and steel proves that art is allowed to live, laugh, and be a little crazy. As part of the legendary SCHRÄGE VÖGEL special edition, SUPERGONZO plays in the top league of Borowski outdoor light objects – quirky, humorous, original, and unmistakably Borowski.
Its glowing blue glass body is an unmistakable nod to the classic superhero suit. Add the red cape – ready for the next mission – and right at the center of the chest, a clear statement: not an S, but a G. G for Gonzo. This emblem turns the homage into an independent character. SUPERGONZO doesn’t want to be a copy, but a winkingly heroic figure with an identity of its own. He stands for courage in color, joy in being different, and the pleasure of not taking things quite as seriously as others do.

SUPERGONZO is not just a sculpture – he is a light object with presence. As dusk falls, he comes to life and bathes your favorite spot in warm, inviting light, whether under trees in the garden, on the lawn, or next to a lounge area. Light creates mood, safety, and atmosphere; combined with his playful form, the result is an object that delights and inspires. Thanks to his robust craftsmanship, he easily withstands wind, weather, and changing seasons.
An eye-catcher indoors, too
Like all Borowski objects, SUPERGONZO is entirely handcrafted. Every step of the process – from the glowing furnace to the finished figure – reflects artisanal tradition and a spirit of creative experimentation. Small variations in color or shape are not flaws, but signs of genuine glassmaking. The result is an object that doesn’t simply decorate, but adds personality.

Handcrafted, each glass object is unique
The ODD BIRDS appeared in public for the first time at the Borowski Summer Festival 2019 at Gut Wintermühlenhof in Königswinter. They parody world-famous personalities from the worlds of art, music, science and entertainment.
Stani Jan Borowski has lovingly targeted 12 celebrities and created glass cult figures from his role models with a lot of humor.
Every „Odd Bird“ is a real TYPE with its own character traits. A selection of these birds can be seen in the Borowski Gallery Düsseldorf. Paul Hilgärtner is in charge of our showroom and looks forward to helping you decide on these special objects.

Every outdoor space is enhanced by light – it creates a sense of safety and adds a special atmosphere.
Our light objects are designed as outdoor sculptures and easily withstand the effects of wind and weather all year round. Of course, they can also be used indoors.
Add a touch of enchantment to your favorite spot in the garden or on your balcony! Whether as a cheerful eye-catcher among your flower beds, a striking art piece on the lawn, or playfully placed in a tree or on your house wall – there are no limits to your creativity. In summer, they invite you to linger with their ambient glow. In winter, they defy frost and darkness, bringing cheer with their vibrant colors and warm light.
The light objects come with a 6-meter outdoor cable.

Each object shown here reflects the craftsmanship of our glassmakers. What appears lighthearted, playful, and full of color is in fact created through a demanding and often physically challenging production process. Today, only a small number of people and glass studios worldwide still master the traditional art of glassmaking.
At the Borowski Glass Studio, nearly all known techniques of hot and cold glassworking can be applied. This exceptional range of possibilities allows our artists to continuously develop new ideas and bring even highly ambitious, experimental visions to life in glass.
The brothers Stani-Jan, Wiktor, and Pawel Borowski learned to work with the blowpipe and molten glass from the ground up. While Wiktor primarily oversees sales, Pawel and Stani-Jan still work daily at the furnace in the glass studio themselves.
As each object is mouth-blown and traditionally handcrafted, slight variations in color, shape, and size are unavoidable. Small air inclusions in the glass are characteristic features of genuine handcrafted studio glass and should not be regarded as flaws, but rather as signs of its individual production process.
The friendly figures and characters of the OUTDOOR OBJECTS ensure “fabulous” encounters in gardens and parks – in the true sense of the word. As if from another world chameleons, birds, armadillos, and all sorts of creatures appear – bringing a little piece of their world into our own. The OUTDOOR OBJECTS create a wonderful link to their environment – inviting their owners to smile, dream and linger. These highly individual, happy visitors will enliven your garden or balcony and give your favourite spot a very special magic.
The OUTDOOR OBJECTS are weatherproof and can stand outside all year long. All these art objects are handmade and hand blown with the utmost care.
When fastening your object, you should make sure that it stands securely and does not wibble or tip over, even in wind or knocks. Use the mounting eyelets we provide for this purpose. Position your object so that it is safe from falling rocks or braking branches. Keep in mind that the objects are very heavy due to their quality and protruding parts (e.g. beaks, eyes, ears, tails, crowns) are not suitable as handles.
