Description

JACK – the Pirate among the ODD BIRDS

The JACK light object is part of Borowski’s special edition ODD BIRDS and is a tongue-in-cheek parody of the film pirate Jack Sparrow. With his black pirate hat, distinctive beard, and colorful parrot at his side, he unmistakably recalls the legendary movie hero. Like the film character himself, JACK combines charm, eccentricity, and a good dose of humor. The row of buttons on his body references typical seafaring attire, while the skull emblem completes the unmistakable pirate look. An object that translates the spirit of adventure and unconventional lifestyle into glass – quirky, charismatic, and always a little mischievous.

The Success of “Pirates of the Caribbean”

The character of Jack Sparrow became world-famous through the film series Pirates of the Caribbean. Since the first installment in 2003, the movies have captivated millions of viewers with their unique mix of adventure, fantasy, humor, and visual opulence. Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Depp, has become one of the most iconic figures in modern cinema – a quirky anti-hero constantly balancing between chaos and brilliance. The success of the series revived the popularity of pirates and redefined the adventure film genre.

The fourth brood

In 2025, Stani Jan Borowski continued his playful homage to famous personalities and fictional characters with the fourth brood of ODD B IRDS. With SHERLOCK, NIKI, JACK and FRIDA, this time Stani Jan Borowski dedicated himself to extraordinary personalities and figures from art, literature and film.

Two world-famous artists, a razor-sharp detective and an eccentric pirate - their worlds could hardly be more different. And yet they have something crucial in common: They bring joie de vivre and imagination to our everyday lives - in short, the world would be a much duller place without them.

Borowski translates these characters into expressive glass objects full of small allusions and surprising details with subtle humor, bright colors and great craftsmanship.

Manual Work

A Fusion of Tradition, Craftsmanship and Innovation

Exclusive glass art from the Borowski glass factory

Each object shown here reflects the craftsmanship of our glassmakers. What appears lighthearted, playful, and full of color is in fact created through a demanding and often physically challenging production process. Today, only a small number of people and glass studios worldwide still master the traditional art of glassmaking.

At the Borowski Glass Studio, nearly all known techniques of hot and cold glassworking can be applied. This exceptional range of possibilities allows our artists to continuously develop new ideas and bring even highly ambitious, experimental visions to life in glass.

The brothers Stani-Jan, Wiktor, and Pawel Borowski learned to work with the blowpipe and molten glass from the ground up. While Wiktor primarily oversees sales, Pawel and Stani-Jan still work daily at the furnace in the glass studio themselves.

As each object is mouth-blown and traditionally handcrafted, slight variations in color, shape, and size are unavoidable. Small air inclusions in the glass are characteristic features of genuine handcrafted studio glass and should not be regarded as flaws, but rather as signs of its individual production process.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

When fastening your object, you should make sure that it stands securely and does not wibble or tip over, even in wind or knocks. Use the mounting eyelets we provide for this purpose. Position your object so that it is safe from falling rocks or braking branches. Keep in mind that the objects are very heavy due to their quality and protruding parts (e.g. beaks, eyes, ears, tails, crowns) are not suitable as handles.
