The University of Bonn maintains one of the oldest documented botanical gardens in Germany. Its roots go back to the 16th century. The total area of 12 hectares is spread over three locations, with the historic palace garden surrounding the Clemensruh castle in Bonn-Poppelsdorf as the largest and most well-known part.
For the 25th anniversary of the Circle of Friends of the Botanical Gardens in Bonn, Glass Studio Borowski showed handmade and hand-blown glass and metal sculptures and light objects. Around 100 outdoor objects could be seen in the gardens in front of the Poppelsdorf Palace.
Part of the proceeds from the sale of each gonzo during the exhibition went to the children’s aid organization “BUNTER KREIS”.
The exhibition opened on Midsummer Night on June 21st and 22nd, 2014, in connection with a large summer party on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Friends of the Botanical Gardens in Bonn. The botanical garden was open until late into the night and thus offered a special opportunity to see the sculptures and the park illuminated.
