Handcrafted design object with an exotic presence

MONTY Glass Bowl – Exotic with an Alien Flair

Exotic with an Alien Flair

Some animals seem as if they belong to another world. The salamander is one of them. MONTY captures this mysterious presence and translates it into glass. With his elliptical head, large eyes, and rounded body, he appears unusual—almost a little otherworldly—yet at the same time surprisingly endearing.

With a length of 45 cm, a width of 32 cm, and a height of 30 cm, MONTY makes a confident statement. His powerful body features striking color contrasts: in the blue-violet version, bright yellow accents shine, while the yellow-orange version is defined by bold black areas. The curved tail and large, curious eyes make him unmistakable. MONTY does not simply occupy a space—he shapes it. The glass body rests on four powder-coated steel feet whose small, charming silhouette echoes the feet of a real salamander.

Sculpture with Function

MONTY is not just a bowl, but a sculptural design object. The generous opening along his back holds fruit, sweets, or decorative arrangements – turning everyday items into a small stage.

On a dining table, he becomes the centerpiece. On a sideboard, he sets a deliberate splash of color. His organic form introduces movement into modern interiors and adds a playful contrast to vibrant living spaces.

Stage It, Don’t Just Decorate

MONTY brings a sense of exotic flair into any room – and this can be styled intentionally. Placed among large-leaf houseplants such as monstera, bird of paradise, or ferns, he unfolds his effect beautifully. The salamander’s organic shape harmonizes with natural textures, while his bold colors create vivid accents against lush greenery.

He also pairs effortlessly with natural materials like wood, linen, or stone. In modern interiors with clean lines, he provides a striking contrast and prevents the space from feeling too cool. In colorful settings or rooms with a curated mix of styles, he integrates confidently without fading into the background.

A Fusion of Tradition, Craftsmanship and Innovation

Exclusive glass art from the Borowski glass factory

Each object shown here reflects the craftsmanship of our glassmakers. What appears lighthearted, playful, and full of color is in fact created through a demanding and often physically challenging production process. Today, only a small number of people and glass studios worldwide still master the traditional art of glassmaking.

At the Borowski Glass Studio, nearly all known techniques of hot and cold glassworking can be applied. This exceptional range of possibilities allows our artists to continuously develop new ideas and bring even highly ambitious, experimental visions to life in glass.

The brothers Stani-Jan, Wiktor, and Pawel Borowski learned to work with the blowpipe and molten glass from the ground up. While Wiktor primarily oversees sales, Pawel and Stani-Jan still work daily at the furnace in the glass studio themselves.

As each object is mouth-blown and traditionally handcrafted, slight variations in color, shape, and size are unavoidable. Small air inclusions in the glass are characteristic features of genuine handcrafted studio glass and should not be regarded as flaws, but rather as signs of its individual production process.

Studio Line

STUDIO LINE

More than a work of art ...

The objects in the STUDIO LINE collection transport the unmistakable artistic features and qualities of Borowski production into daily life. But they do not want to be satisfied with pure art at all: They are also candlesticks, fruit bowls, vases or paperweights.

They represent the vibrant, open art concept that is so typical for the work of the Borowski brothers. It goes without saying that each object from the STUDIO LINE is an individual piece and has been handmade with a great deal of love and attention to detail.
