A chameleon that only Borowski can be

DJANGO is inspired by a chameleon – and yet is far more than a replica of nature. A quirky and lovable fantasy animal full of character was created from the typical features of the reptile. The colorful scaly dress, the large spherical eyes that look in different directions independently of each other, the long flinging tongue and the curled tail that winds around the body take up the peculiarities of a chameleon and reinterpret them in Borowski’s own way. Even the distinctive horn on the head has a model in nature, as some chameleon species actually have small horns. However, DJANGO does not want to disguise itself. His colors are far too bright for that – and he enjoys the attention far too much.

Colors and textures of glass needed to create a single DJANGO. Can you find more?

Table lamp and glass art at the same time

As soon as the light is switched on, the glass begins to glow from within and brings out the finely tuned colors again. The warm light makes DJANGO an atmospheric table lamp and an extraordinary living object at the same time. But DJANGO also amazes onlookers when switched off. Its unusual shape, the varied structures of the mouth-blown glass and the imaginative details arouse curiosity and attention. The longer you look at it, the more little peculiarities you discover – and inevitably the big eyes, the slinging tongue and the mischievous facial expression make you smile.

For people who have a mind of their own

DJANGO inspires people who have their own style and appreciate the unconventional. Its playful and cheeky nature, its colorful appearance and its unmistakable character appeal particularly to those who enjoy the surprising and the unusual. Those who choose DJANGO often appreciate precisely those qualities that also characterize the object: Creativity, joie de vivre, a certain waywardness and the ability to look at the world with humor. This often results in a connection that goes far beyond the function of a table lamp.

Manual Work

A Fusion of Tradition, Craftsmanship and Innovation

Exclusive glass art from the Borowski glass factory

Each object shown here reflects the craftsmanship of our glassmakers. What appears lighthearted, playful, and full of color is in fact created through a demanding and often physically challenging production process. Today, only a small number of people and glass studios worldwide still master the traditional art of glassmaking.

At the Borowski Glass Studio, nearly all known techniques of hot and cold glassworking can be applied. This exceptional range of possibilities allows our artists to continuously develop new ideas and bring even highly ambitious, experimental visions to life in glass.

The brothers Stani-Jan, Wiktor, and Pawel Borowski learned to work with the blowpipe and molten glass from the ground up. While Wiktor primarily oversees sales, Pawel and Stani-Jan still work daily at the furnace in the glass studio themselves.

As each object is mouth-blown and traditionally handcrafted, slight variations in color, shape, and size are unavoidable. Small air inclusions in the glass are characteristic features of genuine handcrafted studio glass and should not be regarded as flaws, but rather as signs of its individual production process.

Studio Line

STUDIO LINE

More than a work of art ...

The objects in the STUDIO LINE collection transport the unmistakable artistic features and qualities of Borowski production into daily life. But they do not want to be satisfied with pure art at all: They are also candlesticks, fruit bowls, vases or paperweights.

They represent the vibrant, open art concept that is so typical for the work of the Borowski brothers. It goes without saying that each object from the STUDIO LINE is an individual piece and has been handmade with a great deal of love and attention to detail.
