Style that pushes boundaries
Prince was a revolutionary multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer who fused funk, rock, pop and soul. His work is characterized by great stylistic diversity, a distinct artistic independence and an unmistakable visual aesthetic. With the album and film “Purple Rain” (1984), he became one of the most successful artists in the world.
As a pop icon, he set standards with his style and stage presence. His eccentric look was glamorous, often androgynous, characterized by glitter and sequins from head to toe, ruffles, flared pants and his signature color purple.
Extravagance in glass
The light object PRINCE picks up on several characteristic elements of the musician’s extravagant outfits without simply copying them. The speckled, amber-colored glass body has a refined shimmer with an almost metallic sheen. Unlike the other ODD BIRDS, PRINCE features a high-gloss surface rather than a matte finish. The blue crest adds a striking accent, while a baroque-style ruffled cravat made of violet glass wraps around the neck.
Presence with subtle nuances
The PRINCE light object is just as eye-catching as Prince was as a stage star. And yet its effect is not limited to attracting attention: Like its role model, the glass interpretation also lives from the quieter nuances. It brings calm to the overall picture, radiates warmth and unfolds its presence in a restrained, almost casual way.
